Executive Meeting - March 2, 2006

Attendance: Joe Gubbels, Ray Schizkoske, Don Critchley, Art Mousley, Rhea McKane, Sheila Harrison, Arnold St.Onge, Ray Dumoulin

Absent: Greg Burke, Wally Holmes, Ray Landry

President Ray welcomed everyone and distributed the agenda for the meeting.

Minutes:

Secretary Joe read the minutes of the General meeting held on November 29, 2005.

Motion by Arnold St.Onge

Seconded by Ray Dumoulin

That the minutes be approved as read.

Carried.

Business arising from the minutes:

• Discussion on the rules for the Club Playdowns.

Rule will be added to cover the issue of a team losing one player of a number of games.

Secretary Joe will add this rule in consultation will Sheila and Ray.

• The Draw Committee is made up of Sheila, Ray and Joe.

Correspondence:

There was no correspondence to report.

Financial Report:

Treasurer Art presented report on the financial status as of February 23, 2006 with comparision figures for February 23, 2005

The bank balance is $ 3,251.00

Last year's balance was $ 3,873.00

Decline may be attributed to loss of 50/50 profit for the Dusty Baker Bonspiel and purchase of Club pins.

That the financial report be approved as presented.

Roy Carroll Bonspiel:

The Iroquois Falls Club has asked us to supply six teams for this Bonspiel.

President Ray urged everyone to make up a team.

Club Playdowns - 2006

The Club Playdowns will be held March 28-29-30 and April 4-5-6, over a two week period with teams playing one game per day.

Morning curling only.

The fee for this playdown will be $ 20.00 for the six games.

Sheila, Ray S. and Joe will be in charge of making up the draw.

Arnold and Ray D. will be in charge of the 50/50 draw.

Wally will be in charge of the banquet. ( Cost to be kept under $ 12.00 / plate )

Ray S. in charge of publicity.

Art in charge of prizes.

Sheila in charge of trophies.

Ray S. will contact sponsors.

Secretary Joe will post sign-up sheet for banquet.

New Member pins:

Joe G. will present all new members with the club pins at the closing banquet / meeting.

Events:

Wednesday morning curling.

President Ray will solicit ideas to improve the number of teams in this league.

Challenge Round:

President Ray will solicit ideas for this competition.

Rental Increase for 2006-2007:

President Ray has been in touch with Ed Richter regarding this issue.

Hopes to have an answer prior to our spring meeting.
